Evening program for the NEWCOM-ACoRN Workshop 2006
The Local Organizing Commitee has prepared a juicy evening program for the days of the workshop. September is the best time of the year to visit Vienna: the weather is normally warm and pleasant, the cultural season is in full swing, and wine taverns everywhere are full of serene folks savouring the pleasant warmth of late summer. The following events are planned:

| Wednesday, 20 September 2006 at 19:30 Welcome Reception by the Mayor of Vienna at Vienna City Hall. Transfer: you are invited to make your own way to the city hall. It is reachable by underground (U2, station Rathaus), by tramway (1,2, station Rathausplatz/Burgtheater), or a pleasant 15 minute walk from Vienna's central square Stephansplatz if the weather is nice. | |
 | Thursday, 21 September 2006 at 19:30 Banquet dinner at Heurigen "Fuhrgassl-Huber", a typical Austrian rustic wine tavern in the idyllic setting of the vineyard-covered hills surrounding Vienna. The banquet will be sponsored by mobilkom austria, Austria's leading mobile telecommunications provider. Bus transfers: a bus will leave from the conference location at 19:00 (in front of the U-Bahn station) to the banquet location. A bus will leave the banquet location at 22:30 and drop participants off in front of the opera in the center of Vienna. It is also possible to make your way to and from the banquet by public transportation using bus line 35A to the station Neustift am Walde (approx. 40 minutes from the city center). | |

| Friday, 22 September 2006 at 17:00 after the end of the technical program A short cocktail reception will be offered at the workshop location, leaving you enough time to return to the city center for one of Vienna's reputed cultural performances. We have put together a program of events surrounding the day of the workshop, so you can pick the performance that suits you best. |
A limited number of guest tickets for the reception and banquet will be available from the workshop desk. If you would like to ensure that there will be tickets for your guests, please contact the workshop organizers using the feedback form on this website and specify the number of guests you would like to bring along, and we will pre-reserve tickets for you.
